This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the classical psychoanalytic approach in stress management, particularly in helping individuals understand and cope with stress stemming from unconscious conflicts and past experiences. The Classical Psychoanalytic Theory developed by Sigmund Freud serves as the foundation for understanding the structure of personality (id, ego, and superego) as well as unconscious mechanisms that play a role in the formation of stress symptoms. In this context, stress is not merely seen as a physiological or emotional response to pressure, but as a manifestation of unresolved internal conflicts. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method to explore in depth the experiences of individuals undergoing counseling using the psychoanalytic approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that psychoanalytic techniques such as free association, dream analysis, interpretation, and transference analysis can help clients identify the root causes of stress and enhance self-awareness. These findings suggest that the classical psychoanalytic approach makes a significant contribution to fundamental and long-term stress management.
